Welcome back to this new, slightly fresher World Beyblade Organization!

As you can see, we've successfully upgraded to the latest version of MyBB, which was long overdue. Since we just did a relatively big step in terms of versions, there are a few cool features associated with that version that will surely make you jump from joy:
  • There is a Search function for private messages!!
  • Videos can now easily be embedded into posts.
  • Users currently reading a thread can be seen on the page of the topic.
  • No more accidental, automatic double-posting for Internet Explorer users!
  • In the Member List, you can smoothly choose the letter a member's username begins with instead of going through the pages to reach that letter eventually.
  • The time of long quotes with several messages in them is gone! There will now be a limit of 2 quoted messages per quote.
  • We will have an easy and fast way to delete all of a banned user's posts, if we ever get such bad times again.
  • If we are ever to use prefixes again, there should be no technical problem with them not showing up sometimes since they will now be directly integrated in the system.
  • This issue wasn't so spread, but avatars that were just changed will now automatically be recognised by everybody's browser, insteaf of temporarily showing the old avatar until you actually refresh a page where the user with that avatar has posted.

On top of that, we have added some extra protections against SPAM accounts, for both bots and actual human beings.

(Some things like the header need some more work, but if you notice any bigger errors or details that should be changed, just send me a private message!)

... Where have Pegasis and Storm Pegasis gone, you ask?

… What is this, 50,000 members?!? It’s time for celebrations!!

As you can see, we used this opportunity to introduce a slight change of layout. Our banner now features Big Bang Pegasis and establishes a parallel with TAKARA-TOMY's abstract new designs for the 4D boxes and images.

Furthermore, the Pegasis forum icon has been replaced by Big Bang Pegasis as well. It was hard to work with it since we wanted to keep a blue and orange colour scheme, but I think we have managed to do it well, and we couldn't have done it without The Fire Wyrm's very generous help with this sprite!

But this isn’t nearly enough for a celebration of this milestone of users, so here comes the rest!

We hope you enjoy these news with all your Beyheart!

Now, what will we do with all these Credits accumulated from hills of awesome tournaments... Bring out a new Credits Campaign, of course!

Introducing the Blader Rewards for the celebration of our 50,000 members: this will be the name for our general Credits Campaign, because who knows, prizes may change over time! The way of getting Credits hasn't changed though:

For getting the 1st place in a tournament: +3
For getting the 2nd place in a tournament: +2
For getting the 3rd place in a tournament: +1
For winning the majority of your matches: +1
Organising a tournament: +1
Participating in a tournament: +1

However, you'll be drooling once you see the prize list:

Wow, such a DJ Tornado!

This time, we've decided to have prizes that did not aim to be good competitively, because logically, if you have reached the amount of Credits required to get the top prize, you obviously already have all the good parts you need! The very generous donations we have been getting compared to last time with the Quest for Quetz also helped us determine that we should go for rare items now.

Please note that there might be a certain delay between when you request for something in exchange for your Credits and when your item gets shipped. In order to be economic, we will try to wait to get a few shipments to do at once instead of doing each one on a separate day. Of course the item's going to be reserved for you anyway though!

Face Trading is now allowed!

  • Kai-V
  • Aug. 14, 2011  5:14 PM
In response to the popular demand, we have decided to allow Face Trading.

The concept is really simple: if you have a Face in your profile which you might want to get rid of, and you know that someone else has a Face you would like to get and that they’re looking for your Face, then trade!

However, we need to set some rules:
  • All discussions of actual Face Trading must be done in private messages. This means that we should not see comments like this in any thread: “Hey, User1, would you like to trade your Dragoon Face for my Driger Face?” Send a private message directly to that user instead of making a post about it on a public forum.
  • Once the two of you have agreed on what you want to trade, both of you need to contact Hazel so that we can make sure that both members agree with this exchange, and so we know what will be exchanged. Please try not to fill his inbox, only send one message each!
  • We’d like to set a limit of two trades per user per month. Choose wisely when you look at the possible Faces you could get!
  • The only Faces eligible for trading are Faces obtained from Face Boosters exclusively. Obviously nobody in their right mind would exchange a Lapis Lazuli Face for a Dranzer Face.

Here’s the list of Faces, for reference:
http://worldbeyblade.org/myawards.php

That’s it, we hope you will be able to decorate your profile with more Faces you want!

Hello all World Bladers,

This Sunday, we'll be doing the real upgrade we were just trying the other time. The site should only be down for around two hours, but this time it should be completely down. So, don't worry, all of it will be done on purpose and as I had mentioned for the previous maintenance, if everything goes according to the plan, then we've got a few surprises for you when we come back after 2 PM GMT!

USA Bladers, this is what you've all been waiting! The WBO and Toywiz team up to bring you the Summer Spin Showdown Beyblade Tournaments!

It's about time the United States started getting more active in the Beyblading scene. These special events will be getting 150 dollars in prizes to choose from Toywiz's wide selection, with stadiums provided by them and full publicity! These tournaments should be huge!

First place will get: 75$ to shop on Toywiz
Second place: 50$ to shop on Toywiz
Third place: 25$ to shop on Toywiz

And this could be only a beginning! In fact, each participant will be getting a 10% coupon code to shop on Toywiz at the end of the tournament!

Besides some locations that have become "regulars" for Beyblade tournaments, we've made an effort to open the doors to some new states as well. Here's the list of tournaments:

Eight states, wow!

Do not ask for a tournament to be hosted in your area. WBO tournaments depend entirely on the existence of a reliable host willing to organise an event in his or her region.
Hey World Bladers,

If you're a Passport Holder, please post once in this thread to be entered in the July 2011 giveaway for a brand new BB-114 Vari Ares D:D! Bladers who post in this thread and do not possess a Blader Passport will have their posts immediately deleted.

Unlike last month, we will be giving away not one, but three Vari Ares away to three different winners!

To make the deal even sweeter, we will also throw in a free Face Booster for the winners!
This contest will run for just nine days until July 31st, 2011, 11:59:59PM EST. Any Passport Holders who post after that date/time will not be entered. The winners will be announced shortly after the date has passed and will have their prize shipped to them free of charge!

Good luck everyone!
This Wednesday, I will be attempting to upgrade our site to one of the latest versions of MyBB.

While chances are that this upgrade will be unsuccessful, even if it does work, I will make us go back to exactly what it is right now, without any lost data. I simply really need to at least try this upgrade, and for that the board needs to be turned off for a while.

As I mentioned, rest assured : nothing will be lost, the site will go back to exactly what it was on Wednesday right before 1 PM Eastern Time.

The real upgrade will take place in the upcoming weeks, with some surprises!
Hey World Bladers!

Over the past few years, we've all become engrossed in Metal Fight Beyblade, but we mustn't ever forget the systems that started it all …! Plastics and the Heavy Metal System! That's why the WBO is declaring Sunday, July 17th, 2011 HMS & Plastics Remembrance Day around the world!

Here are the tournaments we currently have lined up!:

More tournaments will be added soon! If you're interested in hosting a tournament on HMS & Plastics Remembrance Day, post a proposal in the Event Proposals forum.

Now, while we unfortunately will not be processing these tournaments into the BeyPoints System, Faces will still be awarded, and to help make up for the lack of BeyPoints, we will be awarding Extra Credits! to all HMS & Plastics Remembrance Day participants! Instead of the usual +1 for attending a tournament, you will receive +3! And we aren't stopping there! We will also be doing another "BeyLotto"! But this time, it will be HMS & Plastics-themed!

Everyone who enters a HMS & Plastics Remembrance Day tournament anywhere in the world will be given a number, and will be put into an exclusive lottery draw for these awesome, classic prizes!:

All physical prizes are either NIB/NIP or brand new/unused, by the way! And also, because some tournament organizers may not be able to secure prizes for their tournaments in time, the top two prizes from the BeyLotto will be limited to the Bladers who finish in the top three of their local tournament.

Additionally, in celebration of HMS & Plastics Remembrance Day, we've also added four new avatars to the default gallery:

And finally … WBO Organized Play Official Rules Standard/Universal Release 4.0 is here!
Standard Rules | Universal Rules

This is a huge update, so let me outline all of the changes here:
  • All rule updates outlined in "3.6" have been added to this release. Please see this thread for details regarding those updates.
  • The Super Attack Stadium is no longer legal in the Standard Format.
  • The Triple Battle Type Stadium is now legal for all formats.
  • The following passage has been added to the Stalling Clause description:
Stalling Clause Wrote:This clause can only last a maximum of four minutes, after which both Bladers must be ready to initiate the BeyBattle. Unless due to a technical issue (i.e. a Blader cannot find a Tool to assemble their Beyblade), any longer delay will be counted as an automatic loss of the BeyBattle by the Blader causing the delay. The judge should demonstrate reasonable discretionary power.
  • A BeyLauncher LR section has been added to help clarify its use:
BeyLauncher LR Wrote:The Beylauncher LR must be used with its cap.

Spin direction can be changed on the Beylauncher LR in between rounds, but it may not be changed when a Beyblade is already attached to one of its sets of prongs. This rule applies to all dual-spin launchers.
  • A Rev Up Launcher section has been added to help clarify its use:
Rev Up Launcher Wrote:The Rev-Up Launcher must be used either in the same method as with a Beylauncher, or with its proper use, by revving it up.

This launcher can only be revved during the countdown, before “Shoot!” or “rip!” are said.
  • The bolded in the following quote has been added to the "Rules of Shooting" section:
Rules of Shooting Wrote:Each Blader is allowed only the space of half the BeyStadium while preparing to launch and while launching. The limit should be parallel to both Bladers. Any disrespect of this rule, after reasonable warning by the judge, will count as an automatic loss of the round for the offending Blader.

    …

If a winder-based Launcher is being used, a legal launch consists of the winder being pulled out of the shooter, rather than pushed in.
  • In the "Selection of Beyblade and Launcher" section, this:

Selection of Beyblade and Launcher Wrote:Once the Beyblade is attached to the Launcher, that Beyblade must be used for the duration of the BeyBattle.

Has been updated to the following:
Selection of Beyblade and Launcher Wrote:Once the Beyblade is attached to a Launcher, that Beyblade must be used for the duration of the BeyBattle.
  • The Reshoot Clause description has been updated to include the following:
Reshoot Clause Wrote:When this clause is invoked, the Blader and their opponent may also change their launchers if they wish (the opposing Blader may only replace his or her launcher if the Blader invoking the Reshoot Clause chooses to do so him/herself). The replacement launchers must be of the same spin direction as the launcher that their Beyblade was previously attached to (ie. If the Blader was using a Light Launcher 2 previously, they must replace it with something such as the BeyLauncher, or the BeyLauncher LR in right spin mode).
  • The BeyLauncher L section has been updated slightly to cover all left-spin/dual-spin Beyblades, rather than just L Drago or Lightning L Drago:
BeyLauncher L Wrote:The BeyLauncher L is designed to be compatible with left-spin or dual-spin Beyblades only.
You may not use the BeyLauncher-L to make other Wheels spin counter-clockwise.

Likewise, for any launchers with a set of single-spin prongs, you may not use left-spin prongs for right-spin-only Beyblades, and vice-versa with left-spin only Beyblades on right- spin prongs. For instance, L Drago and Lightning L-Drago pertain to the second category. Gravity Perseus and Vari Ares are the only Beyblades that can use both spin rotations.

Phew … that's it! Now, let's all dust off our HMS and Plastics and prepare for HMS & Plastics Remembrance Day!!

P.S. If any of you are wondering "What about the new campaign?", please rest assured … we are still working on it! It's well worth the wait, trust us. Wink
Hello World Bladers,

You live in the United States, you know the WBO's Organized Play Rules by heart, you know your area and you think you'd be good at hosting a tournament? Post here and let us know what state you live in! We know New York, Maryland, Florida, etc. are able to be active and competitive, but come on, there are fifty states!

Expiration of a few Blader Passports

  • Kai-V
  • Jun. 04, 2011  7:51 PM
We just cleaned up all the archives on the Passport Face, and to reflect on the fact that several Blader Passports have expired (they last only one year), many of you do not have a Passport Face anymore.

In fact, there were way too many users who were still active competitively and who had entered recent events with an expired Blader Passport. In the future, if you do not renew your Blader Passport for a whole new year, you will be asked to pay the regular entry fee of $5 USD otherwise you cannot participate in the tournament.

If you had actually sent in another payment to renew your Blader Passport and that we still deleted your Passport Face, contact Kei and I so we can all look into the issue and confirm whether we did get your $10 USD or not.

Be quick, the BeyLotto will begin very soon and the best prizes are for Passport Holders!

Hey World Bladers!

BeyDays is just a few days away! Are you all excited? In preparation for the staggering amount of tournaments happening around the world this weekend, we have a somewhat substantial update to the Standard and Universal Rules to release.

Unfortunately, Kai-V will not be able to edit the old rule books until after BeyDays, so for now you'll have to use this thread as a reference for the new rules, which are as follows:

The ruling regarding Beyblades breaking or separating during BeyBattle:
BeyBattle Wrote:The opposing Beyblade breaking or separating ends the BeyBattle and affords you an
automatic win for the BeyBattle.

Is being updated to:

BeyBattle Wrote:The opposing Beyblade breaking or separating ends the BeyBattle and affords you an automatic win for the BeyBattle. If both Beyblades are found to have broken at the same time, both Bladers may choose new Beyblades, and the BeyBattle will be reset.

And in the "Selection of Beyblade and Launcher" section, this:

Selection of Beyblade and Launcher Wrote:The Blader's Beyblade selection is to be considered undecided until the Beyblade is attached to the Launcher. Once the Beyblade is attached to the Launcher, that Beyblade must be used for the duration of the BeyBattle.

Is having the following note added below it for clarification:

Selection of Beyblade and Launcher Wrote:Note: If using a Beyblade that has multiple modes, it is illegal to change the mode of the part(s) if you have to separate or disassemble the Beyblade in any way to do so. This means that parts such as Lightning L Drago and BD145–which require the Beyblade to be disassembled in order to change modes–cannot be changed during a single BeyBattle. However, you may legally change the modes of parts such as CH120, TH170, and HF/S as many times as you like during a single BeyBattle.

Well, that's it for now! Happy BeyDays everyone! Smile We will do our best to have the rulebooks updated, and ready for download, ASAP after BeyDays is over.
Hey World Bladers!

BeyDays is back for the third year in a row! On the first BeyDay in 2009 we hosted tournaments in Canada and the UK. In 2010 we again hosted tournaments in Canada and the UK, but expanded to include Italy for the first time. This year, the expansion continues! Here are the tournaments we have lined up this year!:

On the 28th of May we'll be hosting events in: And on the next day, the 29th of May:
Additionally, because Vancouver was unable to reschedule their tournament for the actual BeyDays weekend, we've decided to make an exception and allow their tournament to be a part of BeyDays 2011 because it is their first event since 2009! Their tournament will be held on the 22nd of May:
Twenty one tournaments! This is going to be the largest BeyDays ever, by far. However, we know we can do better! Many smaller communities around the world have been trying their hardest to get tournaments organized, and we want to assist in making this process easier for you guys, if only for this one weekend. Here is what we're willing to do for you guys: waive the Blader Passport/$5 entry fee and Event Proposal process for the BeyDays weekend (May 28th-29th) for tournaments thar are being hosted in areas that have yet to host an (or have an approved) official WBO tournament. After BeyDays, the regular fees and procedures will return, but we hope that this special opportunity will help speed up the process of starting a thriving community in your area!

Interested in hosting a BeyDays 2011 Tournament in your area? Click here for details! (Click to View)

Now, back to the festivities! Like last year, all BeyDays 2011 participants will be awarded an exclusive Face! This year it will be the Face of Days II! [Image: BeyDays2011Face2.png]

Additionally, the BeyLotto–a tournament entry extra exclusive event–is back!

Everyone who enters a BeyDays tournament anywhere in the world will be given a number, and will be put into an exclusive lottery draw!

What are the wonderful prizes, you ask?
  • 1st Place - Big Bang Pegasis DX Set

  • 2nd Place - WHF09 Gold L Drago 105F

  • 3rd to 5th Place - Big Bang Pegasis F:D, Fang Leone 130W2D, or L Drago Destroy F:S

  • 6th to 10th Place - Random Booster Vol. 7 Beat Lynx TH170WD
Additionally, the first to tenth place winners will have their choice of
As you can see, we have gone completely bonkers with Face Boosters! But what's that you're asking? What is Face Booster YELLOW and PURPLE?! Oh yes, I almost forgot … we are introducing two completely new Face Boosters on BeyDays 2011!!

And because we love our loyal Passport Holders so much, we've decided to limit the 1st-5th place prizes specifically to them! So, if you want to have a chance to win the coolest prizes, don't forget to purchase a Passport at your local BeyDays tournament!

So make sure to enter a tournament near you, for the chance to win not just tournament prizes, but these ultra special prizes as well!

We have one other important Face Booster-related announcement to make! Almost two years ago now, Face Booster BLACK was introduced as a replacement to the Royal Face, which was awarded to members who made a donation of at least $10. Now it's time for BLACK's replacement, Face Booster WHITE!

What does this mean for Face Booster BLACK? It means that it will be officially retired as of 12:00:00AM EST on May 28th to make way for WHITE. So, any donators who send donations prior to that date will receive Face Booster BLACK, while those after that date will receive Face Booster WHITE.

The Faces included in Face Booster WHITE will be revealed on the 28th, but don't forget, once Face Booster BLACK is gone … it's gone forever! If you've already purchased a Blader Passport, and still wish to donate (ie. be awesome), we are always accepting donations through PayPal at donate@worldbeyblade.org. All donations go towards paying our hosting costs, purchasing prizes for tournaments, and making massive giveaways like this one possible!

... One more thing! Very soon, the Quest for Quetz campaign will unfortunately be coming to an end, and we will be announcing a brand new campaign in its place. The way Credits are earned in this new campaign may differ slightly, and there is going to be a completely new and even more awesome prize pool than last time. We're going to be viewing this as a "fresh start", so, because of this we have made the decision that all physical prizes must be gone by June 20th, 2011, and if afterwards you still go over 7 Credits, your Credits will be reduced to that amount. Here is what remains in our prize pool:

Quetzalcoatl + Prize Hunter Face x1 (15 Credits) (SOLD!)
Storm Pegasis 105RF x1 (10 Credits) (SOLD!)
Dark Bull H145SD x1 (8 Credits) (SOLD!)
Dark Cancer CH120SF x1 (8 Credits) (SOLD!)
Dark Wolf DF145FS x1 + Face Booster DIAMOND (7 Credits) (SOLD!)
Face Booster DIAMOND (3 Credits)

As you can see, many items are "on sale"! Please PM a Committee member if you wish to purchase anything!

Additionally, we can disclose one detail about the new campaign ... Yet another new Face Booster: Face Booster PEARL.

That's it for now! Let the countdown towards BeyDays 2011 begin!
A new Face Contest!

The German band EARTHBEND has offered WBO members full permission to use their song "Too Many Stars" for free for the duration of this Face Contest! One of the band's members' son plays Beyblade, and after finding all the cool Beyblade battle videos on YouTube, they wanted to give us the opportunity to make amazing videos with the intensity of "Too Many Stars"!

Welcome back, World Bladers!

The move was successful and absolutely nothing was lost. That being said, we are still uncertain how the MySQL issue will go, but for sure we will be able to work more closely with our host to figure out a solution if it really has not improved much.

Now, for the good news!
To start off, everyone’s got their Passport Face back! We were finally able to retrieve most of the names of those who had purchased a Blader Passport at least in the past year, but we’re still missing some events’ lists of Passport Holders. If you know you bought a Blader Passport at one of our tournaments and that your Passport Face is not there, contact a Committee Member and we’ll look into verifying that you really got one.

We are also here to publish the Rulebooks Release 3.5!
Standard Rules | Universal Rules
Here are the few things that got updated in this version:
  • The Libra Wheel is now legal!
  • If you invoke the Reshoot Clause, you must now get your replacement approved by the judge, and the replacement part must be in the same condition as the original part was. Therefore, if you change RF, it should be as worn as the other one was.
  • The Open Format now does not exist. We found that processing battles done within that format was just not as fair or even comparable competitively as processing matches from the Standard Format, for instance. It’s not like anyone has really been doing tournaments using the past Beyblade series anyway…
  • A note was added about the red, Balance floor of the Standard Type BeyStadium being legal, although that was generally always known.

Then, we cleaned up the Beywiki Project forum of some threads. While we totally appreciate everyone’s contributions and that we need those contributions to actually build Beywiki since it’s fan-made, we do want drafts to meet the standards of quality that currently published articles have. So, if we see that a draft posted clearly wouldn’t ever be published unless tons of work was done to it, or if there’s already a much better draft posted, then we reserve the right to close that newer draft without prior notice.

Last but not least, we’ve completely rearranged the Bey Marketplace forum! The prefixes were slightly awkward sometimes so we had been thinking about it for a while, but the worrying surge of fraud in that forum definitely made us realize that we needed to be stricter for that area. Of course we’re still not liable if any unfortunate event happens while making deals with some of our members, but we might as well do everything we can to provide a safer environment without getting too involved.
To this intent, we divided the Bey Marketplace forum into clear forums: “Selling & Trading”, and “Buying”. Prefixes are therefore not obligatory anymore, although it’s always polite to warn people if you are only accepting payment in the form of Beyblades, so you might want to continue writing [TRADING] in the title of the topic.
Moreover, now everybody who wants to sell or trade Beyblades has to provide a photo of their stock with a piece of paper showing their username next to it. We will simply not tolerate threads made in the Selling & Trading forum that do not show photographs of the Beyblades for sale or trade. The photo doesn’t need to be clear at all: we just need to be able to make out the shape of your Beyblades, and something that looks like your username, even if it’s a little blurry. In 2011, everyone should be able to easily find a camera or a phone that can take pictures.
To help us make this change even more successful, we ask every member who already has a selling or trading topic to update their thread with photos of their stock. That way everyone should follow this example more, and hopefully we won’t have to close too many new topics, and no more fraud will be done.

Wait, what’s this?!

Stay tuned for more details!!

We truly hope you like these updates; perhaps you were expecting more, but unfortunately it’s mid-term for most of us, so you can understand how busy we all are! This site isn’t dead anyway, so look ahead for its bright future!

Important - Upcoming Maintenance

  • Kai-V
  • Feb. 23, 2011  5:07 AM
In an effort to counter the recurrent internal error which you have probably all encountered at least once (every day) and which is probably caused by the heavy traffic we are getting, we are going to fall into scheduled maintenance from around 7:00 PM ET on Thursday, February 24th 2011, until around 7:00 PM ET on Friday, the following day, while we are moving the site to another host. This should give most of our members the time required for everyone's system to be redirected to the World Beyblade Organization on its new host, as it can take a few hours.

We are aware that this can bother some of you, but we have a few pieces of good news coming right after this maintenance during which the board will be turned off!

Your patience and comprehension are very much appreciated, and we truly hope that this move will not be in vain!

The WBO Committee
TAKARA-TOMY has revealed the name of the new system of Metal Fight Beyblade as well as its name : 4D. This is what the four D's stand for :

Different Material
Divided Wheel
Dynamic Move
Deep Custom

The Track and Bottom are fused together in a currently unnamed piece. This could be the explanation, or at least the indicator of "Dynamic Move", as this new part appears to be very big.

There might be a slight portion of a new material in the Clear Wheel, but otherwise there is still no information about a concrete new different material used for these new Beyblades.

The Metal Wheel is indeed divided into at least two parts. A mode change is supposed to be possible but remains very unclear at the moment. Big Bang Pegasis' Metal Wheel has three parts, including one made of Polycarbonate.

The 4D System also comes with a different naming system, which currently does not seem to describe all of the parts of a Beyblade. For instance, if we analyse Big Bang Pegasis F:D, "Big Bang" should be the Metal Wheel, yet it has three parts but only two words. Pegasis (probably Pegasis III) should remain the name of the Clear Wheel. "F:D" is the name for the Track+Bottom piece, and stands for Final Drive.

The first few releases part of this new system are as follows :

BB-105 Starter Big Bang Pegasis F:D
BB-106 Fang Leone [?]
BB-107 Beyblade Introduction Set (tentative name)
BB-108 L Drago Destroy F:S
BB-109 Random Booster Vol. 7
BB-110 Beylauncher Cosmo Blue
BB-111 Beylauncher Army Green
BB-112 Karabiner Grip (Heat Red)
BB-113 (unknown Starter)

Starting at the end of March and beginning of April 2011 we will see this exciting new system along with a new season of Metal Fight Beyblade!

Changes to the WBO Staff!

  • Kai-V
  • Jan. 09, 2011  3:32 AM
Seeing as we have been getting a lot of SPAM progressively, and that a few of the staff members have been quite absent these last months, we figured it was time for a reshuffle within the staff! Welcome to the team :

Daegor42 as a Committee Member!
Roan as a Global Moderator!
And OkiBlaze as a Global Moderator as well!

We will probably add some more moderators in the upcoming weeks.

On the subject of SPAM, we are doing our best to deal with the recurrent SPAMmer 'rup123', who has a dynamic IP address and whom we therefore cannot ban indefinitely. I already made a topic about this, but I suppose I have to repeat my words again :

Never reply to his posts. If you do that, you just help his SPAM by bumping his threads, which will make even more people see them. Simply report his messages, and let them die. We might have to warn members who are replying to him eventually, because it is extremely counterproductive.

WBO Second Anniversary + Brad Day!!

  • Kai-V

Time goes by so quickly : the World Beyblade Organization is two years old already, and Beywiki is three years old!

Needless to say, the rebirth of Beyblade has really helped propel this website way beyond expectations! Recently, the development of Beyblade outside East Asia by Hasbro has even further made this hobby a universal phenomenon, as our count of members has reached more than 22,000 World Bladers, and our tournaments keep spreading and becoming more frequent. Some people pick things up where others, busy with life, left them, in a way that this website and this game keep evolving so strongly year after year!

To celebrate the second anniversary of the biggest fan-run Beyblade organisation ever made, we will once again hold a giveaway! However, only Passport Holders will be able to participate : they are, after all, those who have heavily supported the site for such a long time. And since our demography has incredibly increased over even just this past year, we have even bigger prizes than last time! Every Passport Holder who will post in the giveaway topic will be entered and thirteen winners will be picked out of everyone: ten will receive a Face Booster from which a special Face can be gotten, and three other winners will get to choose between Mercury Anubis 85XF, Vulcan Horuseus 145D, and Divine Chimera TR145FB! But hurry up, you only have until Tuesday 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time to post in the appropriate thread, do not miss your chance!

We also want to introduce Release 3 of the Organized Play Rulebooks:
Standard Rules Release 3
Universal Rules Release 3
A few mistakes were corrected, such as the sentence in the Standard Rules that somehow legalized all Metal Fight Beyblade Beystadiums. From now on, it is clear that only three Beystadiums are considered legal: the Attack Type, Balance Type and Super Attack Type stadiums exclusively. The Tornado Beystadium was officially made illegal as well. Furthermore, it came to our attention that a ridiculous amount of accessories could be added to a Launcher Grip, therefore we added a new rule: each Blader can only take up half of the Beystadium before and while launching, regardless of how big their launcher and accessories may be.

Wait, are we forgetting about something ? …

It’s also Brad Day!

This year we also want to take a whole day to highlight how thankful we are for everything Brad did for this community, even way before the creation of Beywiki. I won’t go into as many details as last time, but head over to this thread to learn more about what Brad contributed to all of us to make this site, this hobby, what it is right now!

So, what would be a Brad Day without a complete layout makeover?! This year, since it was awkward for Brad to see his face all over the place, we decided to concentrate on his past avatars and on his quotes instead!

For those of you who really missed out on the opportunity to have conversations with Brad, you have to know one thing: he’s very straightforward. He has a unique sense of humour dripping with so much sarcasm you wouldn’t believe it! Whenever a bad comment is made, you’re stuck with both a slap, and a laugh! But rest assured, Brad is of course able to make fun of himself; he’s just an incredibly enjoyable individual to have around! I think I speak for all the veterans right now : without Brad, the Beyblade community would never have been so much fun both in playing and in conversing.

To support and metaphorically give a round of applause to this special Beyblader, we invite you to add this icon in your signature. What’s important is to keep it at least for the duration of Brad Day, but nothing stops you from always having it in your signature!

In case you’re wondering what is written in the banner, here are the quotes we used as well as others, and we invite you to submit more of them if you find any messages Brad posted that you think are funny and need to be immortalized!

Brad’s funniest quotes (Click to View)

Well, that’s all, enjoy this day where we honour Brad and celebrate the second anniversary of the WBO! Be an “MFB” like us too!
The formula is the same on this special day : if you have a Blader Passport, then post here if you want to enter the draft for the giveaway!

You should only post once in this topic, and you have until Tuesday, December 7th at 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time to enter. This also means that you can get a Blader Passport until then if you do not have one already! Simply click on the "Passport" button in the menu below the banner of the site.

Exceptionally, Committee Members will be able to participate but only for the Face Boosters. This is a great celebration, we all deserve it!

This year, the prizes are special :

Three winners will be able to choose between Mercury Anubis 85XF, Vulcan Horuseus 145D and Divine Chimera TR145FB. The first to be chosen will be the first to decide which Beyblade they want, and the second winner chosen will get the second choice out of the two remaining Beyblades, leaving only one for the third winner.

Ten additional winners will get to pick one of the regular Face Boosters, however there is a chance to get the Brad Face in those.

Good luck to everyone, and thank you for your support !

The Advanced Forum is born!

  • Kai-V
  • Nov. 24, 2010  7:12 PM
10 000, 11 000, … 20 000! We keep growing!

We all love a hobby that is full of different techniques and types of customizations. Younger and older members join this message board, and some of them are older or newer to Beyblade. The wise men teach the new ones, but sometimes, those wise men with their slit-like eyes enjoy discussing among themselves about some obscure concepts of Beyblade in an attempt to push the game even further. To give them room to speak freely and with words few understand, we are now opening an Advanced Forum!

Not away from prying eyes of those who are eager to learn, these Veterans are the only members able to post in that forum. Their usernames will appear in italic. They were chosen for diverse reasons, but others should not despair: everybody is eligible to get approved to contribute to the Advanced Forum one day; you just need to prove yourself and your knowledge! Help people with their combinations, bring out new amazing customizations, help confirm or infirm other members’ combos with accurate test results, answer some Beyblade-related questions, etc. Who knows, you might be one step away from getting the ability to post in the Advanced Forum! However, don’t beg for it, the Committee will choose the members who deserve it along the way as they post and post!

Furthermore, welcome our newest Moderator, blah!

Downtime earlier today.

Hey World Bladers,

Earlier today many of you tried to access the WBO, but were greeted by a page that read, "This Account Has Been Suspended". We just want to clarify that this had nothing to do with any specific members, but our website's account with our host; we simply failed to pay the hosting on time by mistake.

Everything is fine now though, so we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused!
