Hmm, I always thought this would simply just count as an attack combo. For example, this is a story.

"Here's my Earth Bull GB145 RF! It's the ultimate attacker!" The foolish noob said, "Except it moves slow"

RE: A Boost For Defense! Using a Worn RF For Defense! - Jellyboy - Jan. 17, 2011

Bump, added tests against mid-height attackers.

XD
how can earth and a worn RF deliver a high attack power?

MF-H Earth Bull C145RF vs. Vulcan Horuseus 100XF
MF-H Earth Bull C145RF win rate: 5/10
Vulcan Horuseus 100XF win rate: 5/10

I will test against HWS Drago's.

MF-H Earth Bull C145RF vs. Meteo LDrago 100XF
MF-H Earth Bull C145RF win rate: 4/10
Meteo LDrago 100XF win rate: 6/10

Not too bad though.

Actually, Dan and I discussed this I believe on a another thread but concluded that other bottoms such as RS and RSF are safer in terms of legality and Stamina. That being said, an RF which is extremely worn on tracks lower than 105-100 is almost impossible to knock out, due to the wide surface area that grips the stadium floor combined with a low center of gravity... too bad it's illegal.

RE: A Boost For Defense! Using a Worn RF For Defense! - X1 - Jan. 17, 2011

Yes, If a WD is illegal if its used for an attack combo then RF would be also.
Thank God This doesn't apply to Fusion Wheels.

If the WD is moving around a lot, it would be considered illegal.

RE: A Boost For Defense! Using a Worn RF For Defense! - Dan - Jan. 18, 2011

X1, your not thinking correctly. It is not illegal if you use a presumed part for another type, in fact, if we listened to TT or Hasbro, we'd be playing a weird game.

No, a worn WD Can be used as an attack type.

No, a worn WD Can be used as an attack type.

It's not allowed to be used in WBO sanctioned tournaments though.

Or any tournament where officials are not amateurs of Beyblade as well ...

RE: A Boost For Defense! Using a Worn RF For Defense! - H8R - Jan. 18, 2011

but seriously using it like this anything but normal i have thought about it several times but it just doesn't sum up I've used it with many earth combos plus Libra itself and non of the testing has gone well so I'm gonna have to say that its never gonna happen!Tired

RE: A Boost For Defense! Using a Worn RF For Defense! - Dan - Jan. 18, 2011

I am pretty sure that is untrue. Libra + RF isn't working for you..? Speechless

RE: A Boost For Defense! Using a Worn RF For Defense! - Jellyboy - Feb. 12, 2011

Bump. Added more tests.
As I stated in the OP, Lightning destabilized the Defense combo more effectively, as from what I saw it won by a larger margin, due to it using lower parts than before. (85XF) More tests would be appreciated. Thanks.

RE: A Boost For Defense! Using a Worn RF For Defense! - Azlanslayer - Feb. 12, 2011

I can test. Except my rf doesn't move much when it reaches 50% spin rate then what i first shooted.

So what do you want me to test?

RE: A Boost For Defense! Using a Worn RF For Defense! - Jellyboy - Feb. 12, 2011

Azlanslayer, could you test against Vulcan or Ray? I know Ray isn't top-tier anymore, I'm just curious.

RE: A Boost For Defense! Using a Worn RF For Defense! - Ultra - Feb. 12, 2011

In case anyone forgot i'm just gonna throw out there that using a worn RF for defence is illegal.

RE: A Boost For Defense! Using a Worn RF For Defense! - Azlanslayer - Feb. 12, 2011

Testing asked by JellyBoy

Standard Setup

Vulcan:

MF Vulcan Horuseus 90R2F vs MF Earth Bull GB145RF (Worn)
MF Vulcan Horuseus: 2 wins
MF Earth Bull: 8 wins

MF Vulcan Horuseus 90RF vs MF Earth Bull GB145RF (Worn)
MF Vulcan Horuseus: 6 wins
MF Earth Bull: 4 wins

Ray:

Ray Unicorno 100R2F Vs MF Earth Bull GB145RF (Worn)
Ray Unicorno: 1 win
MF Earth Bull: 9 wins

Ray Unicorno 100RF Vs MF Earth Bull GB145RF (Worn)
Ray Unicorno: 3 win
MF Earth Bull: 7 wins

Seems Ray is really outclassed. RF does better against worn RF, since there is more control and stamina.

RE: A Boost For Defense! Using a Worn RF For Defense! - Jellyboy - Feb. 12, 2011

Wowzers. 8 wins against Vulcan? Awesome! Added your restlts to the OP. Thanks!

Again why is this illegal , if it is naturally warm out then it good & CS at first behaves like a attack type but after some use it behaves like a defense type , i get that warn out RF is not possessed by everyone , but still no external alterations are made to it so it should be used if it can move for some time & this is a good part if someone can't get their hands on RS or RSF , ignore my point if it's not agreeable

No CS behaves as a stamina type, when it is moderately worn It has its uses as a defense type, and when it is worn a lot it behaves as an attack type. It was DESIGNED in the first place to combine attributes of stamina and attack, and its defenseive properties happen to be good as well. Thus the part is being used for its intended purpose. However, RF is intended for attack, not defense so it is illegal.

RE: A Boost For Defense! Using a Worn RF For Defense! - NitroNeo - Feb. 12, 2011

Ok i got your point , but isn't RF Being Defensive a added bonus for us , Vulcan was a defense bey but we still use Vulcan metal wheel for defense & Gravity is used for attack , but it's purpose was to be a stamina type , same would go for lower tracks they are used for stamina too other than being only used for attack , takara tomy would build beys as they are shown in the show , it is how we use the parts that would matter , if RF Has multiple uses it is better to accept it as it is

I am not trying to challenge what is said in the official rules but all i want to say is that we should be open minded & accept it's pro's now that RF is showing how useful it can really be , when we consider to throw it away just because it does not attack

Recycle bey parts lol <<< sorry off topic but wanted to say this

We do spend to much money on Storm Pegasis 105 to get the RF , so why not use it to it's max

What you are saying has truth to it, but then why buy RS/RSF when you have a good defensive bottom right from storm pegasus? Of course, it always comes down to the financial issues but hey beyblading is an expensive hobby.

RE: A Boost For Defense! Using a Worn RF For Defense! - NitroNeo - Feb. 12, 2011

Not financial some of the younger members here do not have access to buying online specially a few from india were parents are strict , so chances of them getting a RSF or a RS are rare if they are allowed to buy stuff , so they only get access to Hasbro stuff sold locally & it is still unknown if hasbro will release Grand Kratos & if it is released by the time it coming here i see that we at india would probably have hosted a tournament or 2
