Dude pretty nice, do you watch Durarara? Izaya is from that anime.
Umm, the color blending is nice, the signature itself doesn't represent Izaya......
But, thats not what you were going for, I think. Its very well done though, the blur and the splatter is perfect.

Talking about sigs, heres one I spent some time on:

I really don't like the growing trend of using incredibly visible scan lines; it's a cool effect in some circumstances, but when they obstruct the background so much and aren't blended enough, the whole effect makes me a little nauseous.

Ya, after I made it I thought I went to hard on the scan lines, this is my first time using scan lines.

I do not see any blending.

Anyways, I'm creating some Modern Shooter Signature with some sideline render I found on PR.

Color blending bro, matching colour scheme. Tongue_out

RE: General GFX Thread - BeybladeStation - Aug. 03, 2011

You did not do that, really.

You duplicated the main focal x3, then you blurred one behind the main focal. The other two were Smudge Sticked quite poorly. Also, as the obvious Scans as mentioned before.

RE: General GFX Thread - NoodooSoup - Aug. 03, 2011

The first: no blending, no lighting, no depth, and a low quality render.

Thanx. Its not meant to be the full of light, but since you have better sigs than me I'll have to take your word for it.

Numero Uno: Slightly Bad cutting, and the render and text should switch places, so no one can see the cut off edge.
Number 2: Slightly bad Cutting
Number 3: Render shouldn't be under the brush/transperent.
3 is the best out of them.

Number 2: Slightly bad Cutting
Number 3:
1. Agreed, not my best cutting and I realized I should've put the render on the other side after I uploaded it.
2. I didn't cut the gingka; I got lazy and used the brush one. The storm pegasus, however, I cut.
3. Alright, cool. I'll remember that one.

Aye! Sorry! It was only because there were about 300 and it was a lot of fun experimenting with them all!

RE: General GFX Thread - NoodooSoup - Aug. 03, 2011

He's just learning, jeez. It's best for beginners to use other people's methods and styles at first. Then, when they get more experienced, they can go on their own.

RE: General GFX Thread - bugturtles - Aug. 03, 2011

Personally I messed around with Photoshop to learn what everything does, THEN make my own style.

RE: General GFX Thread - Sparta - Aug. 03, 2011

You use photoshop? A lot of people say it's better than GIMP. What do you think, or have you ever used GIMP?

Not bad, but I can't tell if that's just poor cutting near his waist or a belt.

The backgrounds a little plain, but good (I really have no right to say anything, seeing as I'm still a no0b).

RE: General GFX Thread - ThaKingTai - Aug. 03, 2011

If the cutting wasn't so bad, it would be good.

RE: General GFX Thread - NoodooSoup - Aug. 03, 2011

Well, considering it's around $700 more than GIMP, yeah, I think it's better. I've used it before; It has a nice string of effects you can use, and very helpful options.

Tried using GIMP, didn't really like it. Switched over and started on PS7 when I found the installation discs in the house (really lucky find, but I don't even know where they came from..). Now I use CS2, but I'm going to upgrade to CS5 whenever I get the money for it, ha.

Photoshop is more than likely the standard for graphic design for studios, so there's a reason why so many people use it.

That said, despite using Photoshop/etc on a nearly daily basis (since the start of the summer), I haven't made a sig in about two years.

Well, to start off, there's no proper light source. Then because he's darker than the background, the bad cuts are shown more, which could be fixed by blending. C4D(?) placement is kind of awkward, but there is a sense of flow. Smile

RE: General GFX Thread - Xyo - Aug. 03, 2011

Thank Vintage Grin though i dont know how to acquire that light source

RE: General GFX Thread - NoodooSoup - Aug. 03, 2011

Pick a source, and let there be light. Usually done on corners or glowing objects, use a brush (make sure it blends well), pick a light color (the color of the light), and do whatever layer option you want. Overlay, dodge, whatever floats your boat.
