Community Rules

Updated: 30th April 2020

Thanks for being a part of worldbeyblade.org. We have a few simple rules to keep the community fun for everyone:

1. Treat other members well. Don’t harass or be rude to other members. In general, try to be nice to them and make their lives better. This site exists solely as a fun place for Beyblade fans online — don’t make it un-fun.

2. Stay away from sensitive topics. Discussions about sensitive topics like politics or religion, or topics that wouldn’t be appropriate for all-ages are forbidden. It can be difficult to tell when boundaries are being crossed, so just don’t approach them.

3. Make posts people want to read! Worldbeyblade.org is a place for discussions about Beyblade, and is only as fun as you make it. Put thought into your posts and contribute to the conversation, and only create new topics in the proper forums if existing topics don’t exist.

Our volunteer moderators and staff moderate the content posted to this site to the best of their abilities based on these community rules. Please note that we do not bear responsibility for whether or not any of the content members post to this site abides by these rules, nor are we responsible for the interactions between members. This includes, but is not limited to, sales discussed in the Beyblade Marketplace forum. By browsing worldbeyblade.org, you agree to abide by the community rules outlined here.

Members that break these rules could have their accounts suspended or banned permanently.

For more information on specifically what kinds of actions can lead to suspensions or bans, please see our moderation and banning guidelines below. These are the same guidelines we follow internally for applying rules.

Types of Warnings

Accounts will have suspensions automatically applied against them based on their current warning level.
  • 20%: 24 hours
  • 30%: 24 hours
  • 40%: 1 week
  • 50%: 1 month
  • 60%: 1 month
  • 70%: 3 months
  • 80%: 3 months
  • 90%: 6 months
  • 100%: 1 Year
Because warnings are designed to be used primarily as a suspension tool, bans are now handled separately from warnings. Please see the Banning section for more information.

Community Conduct Violations

Rudeness, hostility, swearing, and } other general bad behaviour
In situations like these, we always look to solve the issue without resorting to a formal warning. Any offending content will be removed from the post and a message will be sent to the poster explaining what was wrong with their post and why it was removed.

If the issue cannot be resolved with a written warning, a warning will be applied to the user’s account.

There are three types of community conduct violations:

Mild
Profanity filter circumvention, inappropriate language or topics, general rudeness or hostility.
  • Default warning: 10%, expires in 1 year
Medium
Repeated mild violations, direct attack on a user or staff member, strong hostility and rudeness.
  • Default warning: 20%, expires in 1 year
Extreme
Repeated mild and medium violations, sustained attack on a user or multiple users. Use your discretion here and ask for feedback if unsure.
  • Default warning: 50%, expires in 1 year

Tournament Violations

All tournament violations must be reported by the organizer to the WBO committee. For a violation to be reported, it must be clear that the violation was committed with intent — that is, wasn’t the result of an accident or misunderstanding. Organizers are expected to be patient and lenient with first-timers and newbies as long as they’re trying to play by the rules.

General violations
General violations are weighted based on how many violations a player has previously received, and includes situations such as:
  • Signing up for an event with a participant cap and not un-registering if you can't make it/not showing up
  • Poor sportsmanship
  • Spying on other players during the Beyblade selection phase
  • Disrupting the opponent’s play
  • Intentional adjustment of stadium positioning
  • Disrupting another player’s match
  • Throwing a match
First violation: 20% warning, expires in 1 year
Second violation: 50% warning, expires in 1 year
Third violation: 100% warning, expires in 1 year
Fourth violation: Permanent ban

Severe violations
  • Illegal modification of parts
  • Lying to a judge
  • Encouraging other players to throw matches
  • Bullying or verbal harassment of other players
First violation: 70% warning, expires in 1 year
Second violation: Permanent ban

Organizer Violations

WBO organizers are trusted to act in good faith, run fair tournaments, and submit accurate results to the WBO. They are also expected to let us know about incidents that occur at events (like instances of suspected cheating, disqualifications, and drop-outs).

Organizers cannot be warned for legitimate mistakes. However, organizers will lose their status as organizers if they intentionally:
  • Hide information about tournament incidents
  • Submit erroneous or falsified tournament results
  • Participate in match-fixing or otherwise influence the outcome of matches
  • Otherwise undermine the spirit of fair play and good sportsmanship
  • Fail to submit tournament results using WBO spreadsheet
  • Fail to post winning combinations from an event
  • Fail to submit fees collected from an event
Warnings can be adjusted depending on the severity of the incident, its impact (in terms of harming others, tournament outcomes, BeyRank adjustments), the number of violations and/or for how long they persisted, and for their level of involvement.

We can’t account for every possible outcome, but we can set some baseline expectations.

Low-impact (Default warning: 40%, expires in 1 year)
  • Negligible or no effect on tournament outcomes or progression, or player well-being
Medium-impact (Default warning: 60%, expires in 1 year)
  • Some effect on tournament outcomes or progression, or player well-being
  • Or multiple low-impact violations or violations spread across more than one event
High-impact (Default warning: 80%, expires in 1 year)
  • Significant effect on tournament outcomes or progression, or player well-being
  • Harassment, jeering or otherwise making participants in a WBO tournament feel uncomfortable or unsafe
  • Multiple low or medium-impact violations or violations spread across many events
As it relates to submission of tournament information, if there is any legitimate personal circumstances which are preventing you from getting results, winning combinations, or fees submitted on time, please be sure to contact one of our Organized Play Contributors so that we are aware of the situation and can make an exception.

In both playing or hosting tournaments, those who personally benefit from circumventing or breaking the rules may have Bits and other awarded items removed as a penalty. Items that were awarded or claimed but not yet delivered may be canceled.

Banning

Rather than being the result of the warning level reaching 100%, all bans must now be issued manually by a staff member. Additionally, warning levels should not factor into the decision to ban a member; any account at any warning level can be banned at the discretion of WBO staff.

Violations that can result in a ban
  • Obvious trolls or users who clearly haven’t joined the community in good faith will be banned immediately. That doesn’t mean a sarcastic first post — it means an obvious, willful effort to cause trouble in a community.
  • Users who have received repeated warnings (written or formal) about a specific type of conduct and don’t make any effort to improve that conduct.
  • Consistent antagonization of other community members or WBO staff.
  • Failing to comply when disqualified from a battle or tournament.
  • Anything illegal — such as theft or physical assault.
