Hello World Bladers!
I’m gregandcin, Backend Developer here at World Beyblade Organization. I’m excited to announce WBO Leagues, our new platform for Beyblade leaderboards — both leaderboards managed by WBO, and by the community. Check it out at https://leagues.worldbeyblade.org
WBO Leagues also brings big improvements to bracket creation by automatically generating brackets for you based on your tournament’s settings, and more ways to dig into winning combos data.
Here’s what’s new:
Host your own leaderboards
![[Image: Leaderboard.png]](https://i.postimg.cc/FHQ2pLXc/Leaderboard.png)
WBO Leagues introduces the ability for WBO Organizers to create and manage their own leaderboards. This means you can build leaderboards for anything you want, like:
And you don’t have to do it alone — you can collaborate with other organizers to manage leaderboards together!
Leaderboards have a lot of options to enable, so let's break some of them down.
Format
While the vast majority of events posted to WBO are Beyblade X, we continue to support formats across every generation of Beyblade. Leaderboards can be set up for any format, and any number of formats combined. Maybe your locals play X and Metal Fight Limited regularly and you want a combined leaderboard for all those events; you can do that. (We know you’re out there!)
Ranking Systems
Leaderboards can be setup to support a variety of ranking systems:
Each leaderboard can enable 1 Skill Rating and 1 Point System. Skill Rating systems have defaults we think will work well for most communities, and Point Systems have examples you can use to build your own.
Start and End Time
Just like how X Ranked Seasons have a start and end time, community leaderboards can have a custom start and end time. Run your own local seasons!
Collaborate With Other Organizers
We know it’s common for Organizers to work together within events and across regions. That’s why we’ve made it easy to add other Organizers to your leaderboards as:
In your leaderboard settings, you can also enable a tournament queue to review events submitted by contributors before they’re added to your leaderboard.
Blader Stats
![[Image: player.png]](https://i.postimg.cc/V6HxWZzC/player.png)
What’s the point of winning at events if you can’t show off? Each Blader will have their own page with their rankings in each Leaderboard they are in, Win/Loss records, and Match History. You can dig down deeper into per-leaderboard stats including historical ranking data per event. We will be adding more features to this page in the future to show off your blading prowess.
Winning Combinations for the 21st Century
![[Image: winning-combos.png]](https://i.postimg.cc/HkCfzy1X/winning-combos.png)
Winning Combos have gotten a major overhaul, starting with Beyblade X events. We didn’t just stop at showing you which combos are being used the most (cough WizardRod 1-60H cough), we wanted to give you as much detail as possible. See what parts are being used the most, their most popular pairings, and find out what combos are being used in First Stage 1on1 First to 7 Points events. We’ve added as many filters as we could think of so you can dig down deep into the data that you care about. For those of you who want to do more with the data, we have a publicly available API for you, with documentation at https://leagues.worldbeyblade.org/_docs.
Bracket Creation, Simplified
![[Image: brackets.png]](https://i.postimg.cc/vZdphVwV/brackets.png)
One of the pain points of event running for Organizers has been creating brackets. We've streamlined the process so it's easier for you to get a bracket with the correct bladers, round types, and tie breakers. Just enter your WBO event link, and go. For those running Open League events, we've exposed all the settings so you can tailor it to how your community plays.
Some important information
Authentication
Due to technical limitations of the current WBO platform, users will have to log into WBO Leagues using their Discord account that is tied to our Discord server. This means that ALL ORGANIZERS are required to be a part of our Discord community in order to submit events to leaderboards, as well as Winning Combinations.
We know this isn’t ideal, and we’re working on a larger update to the WBO platform that will allow you to use WBO Leagues solely with your WBO account, without Discord authentication, in the future.

Legacy Format Leaderboards and Winning Combinations
Legacy Format Leaderboards are being moved to WBO Leagues with a couple of changes:
As well, the bracket structure for Legacy has been brought in line with Beyblade X. The only addition is Events with 7 or 8 players can be Ranked using Round Robin, given the currently lower player and event counts of Legacy Events.

Closing Thoughts
This has been a large endeavour from the WBO Staff team. For myself, I’ve been working on this since March 2025. I would like to thank the team for all their support as this was built from the ground up as the start of a new World Beyblade Organization. We hope you all enjoy playing in events, tracking your stats, and finding the best Beys as we continue to play Beyblade together.

WBO Leagues introduces the ability for WBO Organizers to create and manage their own leaderboards. This means you can build leaderboards for anything you want, like:
- a leaderboard for your local weekly league
- a ranked leaderboard covering your entire region
- leaderboards for custom rulesets (Ghost Circle league go!)
And you don’t have to do it alone — you can collaborate with other organizers to manage leaderboards together!
Leaderboards have a lot of options to enable, so let's break some of them down.

Ranking Systems
Leaderboards can be setup to support a variety of ranking systems:
- Skill Ratings
- Glicko: Specifically Glicko-2. We think this is the best default for most communities and what WBO will be using for X Seasons starting with 2026 Season 3.
- Elo: A popular ranking system used by many games, and historically what WBO has used. That said, Glicko-2 modernizes Elo in many ways, so we don’t recommend Elo for most.
- Glicko: Specifically Glicko-2. We think this is the best default for most communities and what WBO will be using for X Seasons starting with 2026 Season 3.
- Point Systems
- Placement Points: Bladers are given points based on their final placement in an event.
- Match Win Points: Bladers are given points based on how many wins they get in an event.
- Master Points: A hybrid of the Placement and Match Win systems, where bladers receive points based on their First Stage wins and final placement in an event. This will be used in our future WBO Masters leaderboards as well.
- Placement Points: Bladers are given points based on their final placement in an event.
Each leaderboard can enable 1 Skill Rating and 1 Point System. Skill Rating systems have defaults we think will work well for most communities, and Point Systems have examples you can use to build your own.

Collaborate With Other Organizers
We know it’s common for Organizers to work together within events and across regions. That’s why we’ve made it easy to add other Organizers to your leaderboards as:
- Contributors, who can submit their tournaments to your leaderboard
- Maintainers, who can modify and manage events, plus add and remove Organizers from the leaderboard
In your leaderboard settings, you can also enable a tournament queue to review events submitted by contributors before they’re added to your leaderboard.

Legacy Format Leaderboards and Winning Combinations
Legacy Format Leaderboards are being moved to WBO Leagues with a couple of changes:
- Plastic and HMS, the Beys that started it all, will be getting their own Ranked leaderboards for the first time!
- Metal Fight and Burst leaderboards are being split by Format (Metal Fight, Metal Fight Limited, 4D, etc.).
- With the changes to Metal Fight and Burst, all users are starting fresh. Have fun grinding the ladder!
- Legacy events will no longer require Event Spreadsheets to be filled out by Organizers.
As well, the bracket structure for Legacy has been brought in line with Beyblade X. The only addition is Events with 7 or 8 players can be Ranked using Round Robin, given the currently lower player and event counts of Legacy Events.
