Location
We'll likely be playing outside in the gazebo attached to the front of the High Park Nature Centre.
This means that if you're coming to High Park via the Bloor St W entrance, follow Colborne Lodge Dr. down until you'll see the large gazebo on the left-hand side. Check the red pin on the map image below if you're still unsure.
If we aren't in the gazebo out front or on the grass, check behind the Nature Centre as well, as there is another gazebo there.
If you have any questions about the location, time, or date, please feel free to post about it below.
Any updates to the venue location or rescheduling will be posted by me on the morning-of, at the latest. If you see nothing posted to the contrary, assume everything is continuing as outlined here.
NOTE: Public washrooms can be found just west of the Bloor St W entrance of High Park. There are no public washrooms available at the High Park Nature Centre. Do not knock on their door asking to enter. They don't like that.
WBBA 5G Match Type Format Info
The First Stage of this tournament will be played using the 1-on-1 Battle Format. The Final Stage, featuring the top players from the first stage, will be played using a variation of WBBA 5G Match Type Ruleset outlined below.
Since this is an experimental match type format, please review the rules for the Finals Stage here:
WBBA 5G Match Type Wrote:1. Matches are to 5 points
- Outspin = 1 Point
- Knock Out = 1 Point
- Burst = 2 Points
2. Deck Construction: 5 Beyblades
- Each player constructs a deck consisting of 5 Beyblades within 3 minutes.
- No parts may be repeated throughout each combination. The same rules from WBO’s Deck Format for repeating parts will apply (see the "Deck Format Advanced Rulings" section in the WBO Burst Format rulebook).
- Up to one Layer with multiple spin direction capabilities may be included in the deck (ex. Astral Spriggan). Spin direction changes for Layers with multiple spin direction capabilities are permitted. If both players want to change spin directions at the same time, the change must be made in secret.
3. Deck Sequencing & Inspection
- Each combination will be placed into one of the five numbered slots across 1-2 deck boxes, or some other concealment and ordering method.
- We will have some deck boxes available to borrow at the event, but please bring your own if you have one.
- The judge will then inspect both decks to ensure they are legal.
4. Perform Battles in Sequence
- Players perform battles following the sequence of the Beyblades in their deck box until one player scores 3 total points. This means that the Beyblades in the #1 slot will play each other, followed by #2 vs #2, and #3 vs. #3, and so forth.
5. Draws
- If there is a draw in any battle, the battle will be replayed using the same two Beyblades. This may continue for up to two consecutive battles. After the third consecutive draw, reference the "Consecutive Draws" ruling in the Gameplay Appendix of the WBO Burst Format Rulebook.
- If a tenth total battle is played and a match winner has not yet been determined, reference the "Battle Limit" ruling in the Gameplay Appendix of the WBO Burst Format Rulebook. The same rule used for 3on3 will be applied for 5G.
Note: All other existing WBO Burst Format rules unrelated to the match ruleset outlined above will apply for this event.
Have a BeyStadium or Deck Box? Bring it!
We will be bringing stadiums and some deck boxes for this event, but more are always welcome!
Any BeyStadium is fine for free play, but Burst BeyStadium Standard Types (pictured below) are particularly appreciated and will be used for tournament rounds. If you can bring one, please post here to let us know.
Deck Boxes (similar to the picture below) or any container enabling concealment and ordering of 5 Beyblades are also welcome, as they will be integral for the 5G Match Type in use in this event's Final Stage.
Tournament Bracket on Challonge
As always, during the tournament while we cannot give you a set time for when your next match will take place, you are welcome to follow along with the tournament bracket on Challonge. Challonge is the management tool we use to run the event.

It will be fun, yup. If you are primarily concerned with prizes I suggest you attend Zankye's event The Ultimate Battle Burst Spriggan on November 19th as there will be prizes for that.
Big congratulations to the following participants:
1st Place - Kei
2nd Place - CelesReturner
3rd Place - noahspriggan
It was a really enjoyable time and 5G is always such a fun format, especially the big reveal each round!
