Ha, it's alright. Everyone makes mistakes, right?

Now, it would be a new concept if they started off as dual types. I don't think it'd work out too well.

Haha, scratch that; I forgot about Bulbasaur.

Dual type starters would be ok if you never wanted to evolve your starter. Just not Fire-fighting. btw, I'm probably gonna choose Chespin for a good challenge.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - Mr. N - Mar. 25, 2013

If you could evolve your starter into 2 different things it could be neat I suppose but they probably won't do that since, well, it's a starter. It would be interesting though if the Froakie family was like the Poliwag family and similarly with the others (it could offer some very diverse playthroughs) but again I'm doing wishful thinking, haha.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - Anchor - Mar. 25, 2013

They're really taking their sweet time revealing the new pokemon. Aside from that though, I like Mr. N's idea. It really could evolve the pokemon games(pun intended), and make the experience a lot better with more diverse ways to play.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - akio314 - Mar. 25, 2013

A new Pokemon game, I really hope it lives up to the hype since I've already Pre-Ordered it. But let's get back to business. Gen VI needs a sprawling world like Kanto and Sinnoh, as they are great examples of what they can do with regions. Next, it should be like Gen I in terms of the story aspect. So we all know that all Six of the newbies to the PokeDex look good, so let's hope they can continue that trend with some great new Pokemon and hopefully some cool Evolutions to the ones we all know and love. I know everyone wants Pokemon to have a some major overhaul, but what if they were to mess the series up with that change? Finally, the MOST important new addition is more content as Gen v was quite boring and linear. That's all I've got for now.

XI means 11, you meant Gen VI? Anyways I can't wait for this to be released, I hope they don't make pokemon like Garbodor and Vanilluxe again.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - Anchor - Mar. 25, 2013

I didn't find Gen 5 boring at all, but okay. I want them to make small changes that make the game better. Nothing too much. Kind of like how Gen 5 let you use TM's as many times as you want, and how there was the yes or no feature when your repels ran out. Those were good, simple changes, and Gen 6 really shouldn't go too far. I would like to see evolutions for a few pokemon, and I want pokemon to be able to follow you again like in HG/SS. There should also be a nice, long aftergame, like HG/SS had.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - Septentrione - Apr. 05, 2013

Alright. I've been surfing around the web looking for Pokemon Fun Facts whilst also looking for Pokemon with a good Defense Base stat when I cam across several articles which ultimately leaded to a Kotaku article.

Since Pokemon X/Y is based of Science this time, what if the legendary pokemon (Xerneas and Yveltal) are based of the Ectoderm and the Mesoderm respectively? The ectoderm are the neurons, while the mesoderm are the blood and tissues. This could explain why Xerneas has weird "Antlers" (Neurons being branching, while Xerneas' horns are also branching) and Yveltal being red and black and seemingly having a pulsing red light as shown from the trailer? (blood and muscle being mainly red.) Since most animals are made up of 3 germ layers, there could be a third legendary which can represent the Endoderm. I haven't reached this term of education yet but the endoderm is connected to the ectoderma and mesoderm as said by Wikipedia.

I browsed a little more and saw another theory which is that there are three legendaries but these represent the X, Y, and Z planes of Norse Mythology. Which can be Midgard, Asgard and Niflheim respectively. Asgard houses Hresvelgr (Don't really know if that's the real name) or a Divine Eagle who has the power to see the souls of the dead. That eagle can be Yveltal since animals and people who go to Midgard have their eyes turned to blue and Yveltal has blue eyes. Midgard houses the four stags Dáinn, Dvalinn, Duneyrr and Duraþrór. Xerneas resembles a stag and his horns branch four ways, representing the four stags that are colored red, blue, yellow, and purple which Xerneas' horns have. Niflheim houses the serpent Nidhoggr that nibbles at Yggdrasil's roots. Nidhoggr lives in Niflheim which is basically hell. So we might have a third legendary and this trio might represent Heaven, Earth and Hell.

Anyone think this is true?

I think it's cool.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - Cannon - Apr. 05, 2013

I wouldn't be fond of basing anything; more importantly a game, on Heaven, Earth and Hell .. Or anything that relates or has traces of them, haha.

I would prefer the XYZ; Land, Sky and Sea theory.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - Hazel - Apr. 05, 2013

Mythology roots are not at all uncommon in Pokémon designs or plot, Cannon... or any other games at all, for that matter.

Given that it'd be tying into the Norse aspects of that trinity, it would also not be nearly obvious enough to offend anyone or even be detected by the majority of the playerbase. Land, Sky, Sea has been done before, and I'd prefer something like this to seeing a rehash.

Ermergerd! New Pokemon revealed!

It's on Serebii too.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - Dual - Apr. 07, 2013

Woah, thats weird! I would have never expected they would have given Mewtwo a new forme.
I can't help but like it though.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - Hov - Apr. 07, 2013

I found out this through twitter because it was trending! I was so happy and in awe that one of my favorite pokemon has a new forme!! it looks dope!!

If you're curious about my twitter, its @TheKidJon_

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - Anchor - Apr. 07, 2013

It does look pretty cool. I honestly was never a big Mewtwo fan, but I think this new pokemon looks better than the regular Mewtwo.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - H3LLO - Apr. 07, 2013

Well it makes sense that they would make a new form since the titles of the games are X and Y, which people are assuming have to do with the body, and Mewtwo has to do with genetics.
I wonder if they will make Mewtwo a major character in the games now.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - ~Mana~ - Apr. 07, 2013

Erm...

It has not been confirmed to be a new Mewtwo Forme at all. It has only been showcased, and a name was not given.

However, if you look at the official site, it references that this Pokemon is similar to Mewtwo but is a new Pokemon.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - MetalZoroark21 - Apr. 07, 2013

As above, Its not a Mewtwo form. If you look onto the Pokemon.com page it says it resembles Mewtwo but is not Mewtwo. Its a new Pokemon probably made by Team Rocket, and that they might make a comeback in the anime/game for X and Y?

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - Mr. N - Apr. 07, 2013

Whoops, sorry about that!

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - ~Mana~ - Apr. 07, 2013

You don't have to apologise. I just thought I'd exclaim it to avoid confusion and misconceptions people may have. Your post was perfectly fine.

I do not like the concept of a whole new Mewtwo because he is already powerful enough without this new guy. I'm hoping this "Mewthree" dosen't break the competition and act as a "go to pokemon" for all trainers in X and Y no matter who it opposes (similar to what Dragooon did with beyblade). Now it all makes sense why Mewtwo is reappearing in the new Genesect movie.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - MattForce - Apr. 07, 2013

Wow! my theory is that is a Pokemon created when mew and mewtwo are fused because Pokemon is working toward Pokemon fused together I mean think about Black and white 2.

I have found a pattern in Pokemon. On the X and Y website. Both the Eevee evolution post and the Mewtwo post include the words pokemon Red and Blue. My theory is that they are basing some of their new pokemon more towards the older games like from the Kanto and Johto, regions.

Well think about it this way, and I doubt it'll be any more powerful than Mewtwo, but I remember seeing this on a website and it showed Shiny Genesect on one side and Mewtwo on the other and under them both were shapes. On Genesects side it showed the other 4 (Non-Shiny Genesect, its teammate) and under Mewtwo were 2 empty hexagons. (For the other 2.. "Mewthree" and Mew?) I think it would be cool to see Mew make a comeback in this game speaking it IS based on XYZ (Genetics) and Mewtwo was made from Mews DNA. I think the new "Mewthree" is pretty cool, haha.

RE: Pokemon X and Y! - akio314 - Apr. 07, 2013

I was staring at the Pokemon Twitter page most of the day yesterday. What if this is MewPi (3.14)? Kidding, but that would be hilarious. Actually it could be like the Gene Pokémon or something.

Maybe this "Mewthree" is Mewtwo's new girlfriend made from Mewtwo's DNA to keep Mewtwo company Smile. It would be epic if Mew was in the movie because that might hint to there finally being a DOWNLOADABLE MEW EVENT FOR DS. Just like whay they did for the 1st black and white movie when they released Victini, Reshiram and Zekrom (depending on version). We could finally say we got a Mew without hacking!

I know that would be cool and I think anyone who is a true gamer has gone there before am I right? Wink
